Hi, I'm Trevayne. I help teams ship products people actually understand.

Nearly a decade turning fuzzy problems into clear, humane interfaces — from first research interview to the shipped build. Design, research, and the strategy that ties them together.

What I do

Three ways I help teams

Design

Product & UX design, design systems, and prototypes. Helping companies scale with speed.

Research

Usability testing, interviews, field studies, and the quant to back it up — decisions grounded in evidence.

Strategy

Expert reviews, heuristic audits, and stakeholder workshops that align teams before a pixel is drawn.

Six projects, told the way they really happened.

Each one is a full case study — the problem, the research, the decisions, and what changed once it shipped. Click any project to read the story.

About

A product designer who likes the messy middle.

I work shoulder-to-shoulder with product owners to build and ship — but I'm just as at home running a research study or untangling a design system. The throughline is making complex things feel obvious.

Almost 10 years across fintech, marketplaces, and tools, in-house and consulting. I care about evidence, plain language, and shipping things that survive contact with real users.

A little more personal

What I'm like to work with.

The honest answers to the things people usually find out three weeks in.

What's it actually like to work with me?

High energy, low ego. I get in the trenches with the product owner and the dev team, ask a lot of questions early, and keep things moving. I'd rather show you something rough on Tuesday than something perfect in three weeks.

How do I make decisions?

With evidence where I can get it and a clear opinion where I can't. I'll happily run the study, but I won't hide behind it. Part of my job is making a call and owning the trade-off.

What gets me excited?

Messy, tangled problems that nobody's mapped yet. The moment a confusing journey suddenly clicks into something obvious. I love it when an idea takes form and becomes tangible.

What do I value in a team?

Plain language, honesty about what's hard, and a bias to action. I work best with people who like to speak openly and have robust conversations, but also with the quiet souls full of good ideas.

Remote, hybrid, or in person?

Based in Amsterdam, I work remotely with teams around the world, but I don't believe great research happens only behind a screen. I'm always happy to travel and spend time on-site when needed. Some of my best insights have come from standing beside busy cashiers, sitting with call centre teams, and observing professionals in their day-to-day work.

And outside of work?

South African, now Dutch-adjacent. I'm curious to a fault, obsessed with good food, gym, travel and playing guitar. I'm excellent at meeting people where they are at and adjusting to various cultures and traditions.

The Fox

If you've found this little fox, welcome.

For years I thought my spirit animal might be a meerkat, or perhaps an otter or a Panda.

They're all creatures I've loved for different reasons.

Then one day, wandering the streets of Bordeaux, I started noticing foxes everywhere.

At first I dismissed it as coincidence and bias, but  then I realised I was looking for them. (Or perhaps they had quietly found me!)

My life has been colourful. Sometimes joyful. Sometimes difficult. Never boring. Every chapter has shaped who I am.

The fox reminds me that we don't have to stay the same person forever.

It's clever without being arrogant. Wild without being cruel. Curious, adaptable and quietly confident. It survives because it learns. It changes because life asks it to.

That feels familiar.

I'm endlessly curious. I care deeply about people. I believe good design starts with empathy, not pixels. I love solving problems, making things simpler and finding beauty in unexpected places.

If you've worked with me, you'll know I throw myself wholeheartedly into whatever I'm building. Focus and passion have never been opposites. They've always belonged together.

We only get one turn around the sun.

Let's make something beautiful.
